Palace Avenue S.W Jan 1. 1874 My dear Hardie, I have long wished to write to you and to send all my best wishes to yourself and Mr and Mrs Gibbs of this Christmas and New Year season. My wife and I called at 16 Hyde Park Gardens the day after Christmas Day. I have a slight attack of pleurisy but frt through it without misery, I then thank God, I am pretty well.
