Summary
Cape of a mourning costume made in black wool crepe openwork with beaded decoration over deeply flounced pinked taffeta and trimmed with satin ribbon. The cape forms part of a mourning outfit consisting of bodice, skirt, bonnet and cape which dates from the 1890's but may have been worn into the 1900's by an older lady.
Provenance
purchased from a Barnstaple family in 2001 for display at the Carriage Museum.
