Summary
One of eight carved and painted oak plaques depicting different coats of arms which together formed the back panel of a settle. The central shield stands on a background of white painted linen fold carving supported by three green staves with gold trefoil oak leaf terminals. The flat silver painted shield, divided vertically in two, shows on the left, a silver lion, upper torso only, on a V-shaped blue ground above two blue fleur-de-lys and on the right a five pointed silver star on a black ground. The top edge is punched and marked in pencil; V / Top. Inside the fitted drawer (NT27032.3).
