Summary
Empire period marble and ormolu candelabrum with spirally turned columns supporting flaming vases and with eagles' heads to the lower part suspending swags of flowers. On tripod white marble pedestals mounted with ormolu medallion corners. With bronze recumbant winged lions on veined grey marble tripod base. Upper part supports spirally turned and scroll branches for five lights each. Reputedly from the Austrian Imperial Collection, probably made by Pierre-Philippe Thomire. One of a pair (see NT/BAS/MISC/14B on right hand table).
