Summary

One of a pair of painted pole screens with tapestry panels of two eagles in a garden landscape with plants and buldings. On turned and fluted columns with tripod base of moulded and curved legs terminating in scroll feet and carved with gilt bead and reed ornament, formal leaves and fluting. Urn finial to plain pole. Tapestry probably from Fulham Manufactory. Similar set of three made by Chippendale for Dumfries House, Ayrshire. 1759.
