Summary
Print, engraving, Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France (1755–1793). She wears a wig and feathered headdress and is dressed in an elaborate ruffled gown. Standing before a landscape framed by a large velvet drape tied back with tassels and two large marble columns. Head turned towards the right. After Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun (formerly attributed to Alexandre Roslin). Engraved by Barthelemy Roger (1767-1848) from a drawing by Jean-Jacques François Monanteuil (1785-1860). Published by Antoine François Piéri-Bénard, No.11 Boulevard des Italiens, Paris. Listed in La Bibliographie de La France (1811-1881) as being authorised for distribution in France (Item Number 382) on 17 May, 1828.
