Summary
Wooden picture frame painted gold with glass, wooden backing panel and hanging wire in situ. There are three paper labels stuck onto the back panel. The first a handwritten label reads; Lady Crawley Boevey / Painted by herself. The second a printed label reads; JAMES POOLE, / Carver and Gilder, / LOOKING GLASS, / AND / Picture Frame Maker, / LOWER COLLEGE-STREET, / Gloucester, / Old Paintings Clean Crawley Boeveyed, Lined, and Repaired. / Glass Ground, Polished, and Silvered. / WALDEN, PRINTERS, GLOUCESTER. The third a typewritten label reads; Painted by Lady Crawley-Boevey, / the wife of Sir Thomas Crawley-Boevey, / Bart. of Flaxley Abbey, Gloucestershire. / great-grandmother of the Right / Honourable Lord Wraxall, of Tyntesfield, / Somerset.
