Summary
A mahogany display table, English, circa 1900, with glass panels to the top and sides, with boxwood line-inlay and chequer-banding overall, on four square tapering legs terminating in spade feet. The legs are joined by cross-stretchers centred by a line-inlaid undertier. The top is hinged to the rear and the interior base lined with green fabric.
Provenance
Date and method of entry to the house unknown. The National Trust took over the management of Carlyle's House in 1936.
