Summary
Lead, Dancing Faun, early 20th century. Brought by Colonel Andrew Lyle in around 1920 from his home at Beel House, Buckinghamshire. Statue set on column carved with acanthus leaf on scrolls at base, sited on double plinth. The original bronze discovered in Pompeii in 1830 and a copy of a Hellenistic work is in the Museo Nazionale, Naples
