Summary
Silver Edwardian circular seal box and inkwell. The assay mark is that of J P London, 1905. The circular box has a hinged lid embellished with the royal coat of arms and a decorative oak leaf design circling the edge. The coat of arms surrounded by the garter with St George slaying the dragon beneath reads; HONI SOIT / QUI MAL Y PENSE. The main body of the box is engraved in script; I desire no future that will break the ties of the past. J. A. Oct. 15th 1885 - 1906. On the base is engraved; J PARKES 12 VIGO St. W. Internally, the base has circular shaped rim to accommodate glass inkwell holder.
