Summary
Envelope for a letter from William Heelis to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926. Dated 28 February 1944. Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'. The envelope is addressed to Mr J Moscrop, Redgatehead cottage, Bailey, Newcastleton N.B. It is dated 28/2/44. It has been torn open along the top edge and there are three green postage stamps and one red postage stamp.
