Envelope, for a letter from Beatrix Potter to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926. Dated 17 June 1943. Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'. The envelope is addressed to Mr J. Moscrop, Redgatehead cottage Bailey Newcastleton N.B. The address label has been stuck over another address. The flap is missing and there is a blue postage stamp. It is dated June 17. 42.
