Summary
Small quite worn envelope for a letter from Beatrix Potter to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926. Dated 16 June 1942. Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'. The envelope is dated June 11. 42. The address has been stuck onto the front, it says Mr J. Moscrop, Redgatehead cottage, Bailey, Newcastleton, Roxburghshire N.B. It has been torn open from the top and most of the flap is missing. There are two blue postage stamps.
