Envelope accompanying a Letter from Beatrix Potter to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926.The small envelope features Beatrix's Castle Cottage address on the front. On the back, it is dates March 11. 42 and is addressed to Mr. Joe Moscrop, Saughtrees, Bailey, Newcastleton. The envelope has a tear along the top edge and has two blue stamps. Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'.
