Summary
Envelope accompanying a Letter from Beatrix Potter to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926. The envelope is dated Jan 18.41 and is addressed to Mr. Joseph Moscrop, Troughfoot, Roweltown, Carlisle. The envelope has been town along the top edge and there is a blue postage stamp overlaying a red postage stamp. It has a Nottingham postage mark and another one which says 'post early in the day' Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'.
