Summary
Letter, with envelope, from Beatrix Potter to Joseph Moscrop, shepherd to Beatrix Potter at Troutbeck Park Farm from 1926. Dated 6 April 1931, the letter concerns date for Joseph's arrival; poor grazing (weather too cold and dry); loss of lambs to foxes; calving; Beatrix to supply a dog for lambing, possibly Jess;Tant goes about with a pack of dogs; Lassie working well for Tom Storey; Fly a strange-tempered dog. Part of a collection of letters, Beatrix Potter's Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop, edited and transcribed by Judy Taylor and published (1988) as 'Beatrix Potter's Farming Friendship, Lake District Letters to Joseph Moscrop 1926-1943'.
