Summary
Sheet one of two, containing a letter from Beatrix Potter to Fanny Cooper, her cousin, dated 14 December 1930. The start of the letter, addressed ' my dear Fanny' and sent from Castle cottage. The letter concerns Beatrix's reluctance to travel from home; Holme Ground, Coniston, home of ancestor Abraham Crompton; purchase and resale to The National Trust of the remnants of the Monk Coniston Estate; mining; the economic effect of cheap foreign imports. This letter is part of a collection of letters (15 written by Beatrix Potter and 1 written by William Heelis) to Beatrix's cousin Fanny Cooper and her husband Dr Charles Cooper. The letters span the period 1911-1944 and mainly concern the Crompton ancestors.
