Summary
Copy made by Beatrix Potter from an original story letter that she wrote to Noel Moore from Cottymeade, Sidmouth, 17 April 1898. There are three illustrations - a thatched cottage with a cat curled up in the porch; a dog looking in the shop window of Barnabas Butter Butcher; and the dogs Stumpy and Friday and Percy the cat seated round the tea table being served tea by Miss Hayward the housekeeper. The original letter is published in 'Letters to Children' edited by Judy Taylor'. See also HIL.R.54 and HIL.RD.96, parts of the same original letter.
