Summary
Loose sheet from the manuscript dummy HIL.R.34 containing an ink-written rhyme and a pencil illustration of a cat driving a cart pulled by a goat, and chased by either cats or dogs, probably cats. This sheet was slipped in between pages 40 and 41 of the dummy book. I'm a little 'Pussy Butcher'/ With a tidy little cart -/ My manners are superior,/ And my apron's clean and smart -/ My billy-goat can trot a race/ With any Tradesman's van/ - Then kindly do not call me/ Common 'Cats Meat Man!' See also HIL.R.34, the dummy book; HIL.R.34.1 - HIL.R.34.27 and HIL.R.34.29 - HIL.R.34.49, further rhymes and illustrations. See also HIL.R.20.15, a copy of story letter illustrations contained in a manuscript of The Tale of Little Pig Robinson, for a pencil drawing of a goat pulling a little cart (this is copied from a letter to Marjorie Moore written in Hastings, 13 January 1899).
