Summary
Manuscript of The Fairy Caravan, including drafts of the final chapter (Chapter 23) titled The Fairy in the Oak, drafts of Chapter 14 Demerara Sugar, drafts of sections of the story omitted from the published version, and drafts of the continuation of the The Fairy Caravan story. The manuscript consisted of two exercise books and many loose pages which were paperclipped into bundles and tied together with string. The loose sheets have now been sorted and re-housed to retain the original groupings as found. One group of papers with this manuscript was discovered to be the 'missing' first 8 pages of HIL.R.28.2.1, the more finished of the manuscripts of The fairy Caravan in the National Trust's Collection, and these have been reinstated to their rightful place.
