Summary
Manuscript of The Tale of Little Pig Robinson, a blue 'Leviathan' exercise book. Beatrix Potter has inscribed the front cover in ink, 'Written first at Falmouth 189- / Sidmouth April 1901 / copied again April 1902 '. The first page, containing the title 'The Tale of Poor Pig Robinson', is loose from the exercise book. The text is written in ink on the right hand pages only, with occasional notes and corrections in pencil. Corrections have also been occasionally written on small slips of paper which have been pasted onto the pages. This draft opens with a quotation of part of The Owl and the Pussy Cat by Edward Lear, and ends with the heading 'Part II'. This corresponds to Chapters II - VI of the published version
