Summary
Manuscript of The Tale of Pigling Bland, a brown 'St Paul's' exercise book. The title is written in pencil on the front cover (top centre), and in ink on the first page. The text is written in ink on the right hand pages only, except for a note written in ink on the left hand page opposite page 9. The first 4 pages are set out as a dummy book, labelled as half title, dedication and title pages. The title page is an extra sheet of plain paper which has been pasted into the book. Two illustrations drawn on loose sheets of plain paper were slipped into the exercise book at the end of the text; these are now numbered HIL.R.16.1 and HIL.R.16.2. See also HIL.R.16.1 and HIL.R.16.2, two loose illustrations; HIL.17.1, HIL.17.2, other manuscripts of The Tale of Pigling Bland
