Summary
Manuscript of The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, a blue 'Home Lesson' exercise book. The manuscript is written in ink, and most pages have small sections of amended text on slips of paper pasted in. There are 4 rough pencil drawings; the illustration for the title page is drawn directly onto the page, the other 3 illustrations are drawn on small separate sheets which are pasted in. A further 24 pasted-in illustrations have obviously been removed at some point, with a pencil note of progress marking their places: there are 7 'begun', 11 'done', 3 'to alter', 2 'to do' and 1 'to finish'.
