Summary
Manuscript of The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle written in a brown 'Prince of Penny' exercise book. The text is divided into short sections per page, with space on the facing page for illustrations. There are 6 rough pencil drawings for illustrations. One is drawn on the title page; 3 are drawn on separate small sheets of paper and pasted in; 2 are on separate small loose sheets of paper. This is a later manuscript than HIL.R.6. Unlike HIL.R.6, it is no longer addressed to Stephanie Hyde-Parker, Beatrix's cousin's daughter, but begins, 'Once upon a time there was a little girl called Lucie...' See also HIL.R.6, an earlier draft of The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle.
