Summary
Painted or stained glass window - The South transept (or crossing) window featuring the Nine Orders of Angels. The window is in the perpendicular style in the form of a pointed arch. The top lights are surrounded by tracery of the flowing decorated style with a quadrafoil at the top centre flanked by double tear drops, beneath this sits two larger lights with crown to top housing angels and banners and again teardrops to each side and below quadrafoils. To each side a crowned light with angel and trifoil to the oter side and beneath two quadrafoils. Three large lights sit below depicting the nine angels. Reading left to right and top to bottom, Seraphim, blue six winged with censor, Thrones in royal robes holding a model throne and Cheribim, red six winged bearing the words 'Holy, Holy, Holy'. Dominions in royal robes with sceptre and sword, next to them in the centre Powers in full armour with mace and the head of Satan between his feet and Virtues in full armour with censer and axe. The bottom row is Archangels partially armoured wearing a cope and belt adorned with bells bearing a sword and trumpet, Principalities in full armour with a lace in the left hand and a lily in the right and Angels in deacons vestments carying a sceptre.
