Summary
Alabaster, Altar Front with the Nativity. A carved alabaster altar front with a moulded plinth with three main scenes - the first showing an angel holding scrolls; the second showing the nativity with Virgin Mary, Jesus and two angels; the third showing an angel holding a scroll. Interspersed by four niches with crocketed canopies containing shields and monogramed with' IHC' and four Quatrefoils beneath each shield. The top of the altar is of Frosterley marble carved with five crosses on top.

Acquired with the estate in 1946 from the Trustees of the 9th Duke of Newcastle.
