Biscuit coloured china Toby jug, representing the character Stanley Baldwin. Flat, rectangular handle with recess for fingers in body of jug. Handwritten in black at back of rim above handle the name: Stanley Baldwin. Around sides at the base of the jug in raised letters: THE RIGHT HON. STANLEY BALDWIN. M.P. On the underside of the base is written in black: Of a First Edition / Strictly Limited to One Thousand / Jugs bearing the Signatures of the / PRIME MINISTER and the ARTIST / This is Number 912. Below this is the signature of the artist: Percy Metcalfe, above the maker's logo: Ashtead / Potters / BCM/ASHTD / R2 No. 723231 / J25.K.
