Summary

Print, Mezzotint, Lady Elizabeth Capell, Lady Monson (1755-1834): The Setting Sun (after George Romney) by Norman Hirst (Liverpool 1862 - after 1920). Mezzotint of Lady Monson after George Romney - signed by Norman Hirst. Lady Monson is shown full length leaning against a plinth with trees and part of a domed building in the background. Frame is black painted wood with gilt strips and metal rings attached towards the top back of frame on left and right and wire for hanging attached to both. Gilt label on front bottom edge of frame reads - LADY MONSON / George Romney / Norman Hirst. Printed label on back with an emblem at the top and reads - P.D.Colnaghi and Comp.y / ANCIENT AND MODERN / Print Warehouse / 13 and 14 PALL MALL EAST, / ESTABLISHED 1760 London.
