Summary
Monochrome print of a gentleman standing against a naval background with stormy sky. He is wearing top hat, short-tailed jacket, stirruped trousers, bowed shoes, high collar with cravat and is leaning on a cane. The print has a black narrow ridged frame having a gold mount under glass. The picture is affected by glue coming through from the back. Print on bottom left in script reads: Painted by Richard Ansdell. Print on bottom right reads; Engraved by S. W. Reynolds. Signature reads; G. Lawley. Below this; Published by Thomas Agnew, Repository of Arts, Manchester, Mefs.y Ackermanns, Strand, and the Anaglyphic Company, Berners St. London. June 18th. 1844 / Printed by Brooker and Harrison. The back of the print is covered with oiled brown paper.
