Summary
A dappled rocking horse on a safety stand, carved, gessoed and painted wood, with leather saddle, stirrups and bridle, horsehair mane and tail, with significant damage, wear and losses overall, stencilled on the base of the stand '395/PATENTED/JAN 29TH 1880' (patent relating to the safety stand) and with a stencilled 'S' on the side of one of the supports of the stand, probably by F.H. Ayres, London, 1880s.
