Landscape with sheep on coast. 'Time of Peace'. Painted by Sir Edwin Landseer RA, etched by Frederick Stackpoole, engraved by T.L. Atkinson. Nov 5th 1850, London. 'Engraved from the original picture for and bequeated by the late Robert Vernon Esq, to the National Collection of British Art' at Marlborough House. In pencil on verso; 'subscription copy'. Print of sheep and lambs in the foreground and background grazing near to a clifftop. To the left middle of the print there is a lady, young gentleman and child. The significance of the title 'Time Of Peace' is illustrated by the lambs in the foreground perusing carelessly into an unused canon.
