Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Grace Louisa Staples, Marchioness of Ormonde (1779-1860) by John Comerford (Kilkenny 1770 – Dublin 1832). 1818. Oval. Head and shoulders portrait of a young woman, turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, in a low cut white dress. Pale blue eyes, fair hair brushed upwards. Hatched fawn background. Very faded. Inscription in ink on back: Honble Mrs J. Butler Grace Countess of Ormande. Smooth brass frame set in ebonized mount.
