Summary
A Chinese export lacquer sewing box, hinged cover, of oblong octagonal form, decorated with landscape scenes, 19th century. Interior fitted with detachable tray and sewing accoutrements, two handles. One key with label tied with ribbon reading; COUNTESS GREY, LADY MARY GREY / Howick / 9 Chester Terrace NW. Reverse side in manuscript reads; With best love Mabel and Charlie Grey. L-sided lid - label on reverse reads; Wedding Present, July 21, 1927, The Hon Ursula Lawley from the Earl and Countess Grey.
