Summary
A silvered metal and painted tin carriage lamp adapted later for electricity with spring-loaded candle holder. Four glazed hexagonal panels etched with stylised patterns and dots surmounted with ornate metalwork edges. Two metal panels, one hinged with reflective interior. Applied metal decoration on base and top with pierced grillwork. Iron bracket attached to circular wall-plate. Possibly continental (Spain or Portugal)
Provenance
Acquired by Capt. Bambridge. Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
