Summary
Wilton carpet, of North West Persian design, circa 1865, supplied by John G Crace, the red field with overall herati variant design, a medium blue angular meandering vine border. This carpet was commisioned for the library at Tyntesfield and supplied by one of the most important decorators of the nineteenth century, J G Crace, and was almost certainly made by Blackmore of Wilton. The carpet has been cut to fit the library fireplace.
