Summary
A mahogany single bed frame, English, mid-20th century, by Staples & Co. Consisting of an arched headboard and a lower footboard, both edge-moulded and with shaped top corners. The headboard on square-section extended stile supports; the footboard on low cabriole legs with pad feet. With metal fittings.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection and probably acquired by George Bambridge (1892 - 1943) and Elsie Bambridge (1896 - 1976), who purchased Wimpole in 1938. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Elsie Bambridge.
