Summary
Wood and marble, Chimneypiece, decorated with swags and the Mask of Flora, South Drawing Room, Wimpole Hall, probably by Sefferin Alken (1717- London 1782). Chimneypiece with carved wooden surround and overmantel, marble insert. Probably the work of Sefferin Alken, who also worked for Flitcroft at Stourhead in Wiltshire, and at Milton in Northamptonshire. Decorated with mask of Flora.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
