Summary
A walnut and upholstered tub chair, English, circa 1860, by Howard & Sons Ltd., of Berners St. London. With scroll-over arms and bow-fronted seat raised on ring and baluster-turned legs with brass castors. Covered in a floral-printed cotton cover and a later pink cotton loose cover.
Provenance
Date of acquisition not recorded, but almost certainly acquired by George Bambridge (1892 - 1943) and Elsie Bambridge (1896 - 1976), who purchased a largely empty Wimpole in 1938. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Elsie Bambridge.
