Summary
A figured mahogany wardrobe, English, circa 1835, retailed by James Winter of 101 Wardour Street, London. Having a moulded cornice above a pair of short paneled doors enclosing four slides, with three graduated long drawers below. Flanked to either side by a door fronted by a mirror plate, both enclosing later rails. With Bramah locks.
Provenance
Date of acquisition not recorded, but probably acquired by George Bambridge (1892 - 1943) and Elsie Bambridge (1896 - 1976), who purchased a largely empty Wimpole in 1938. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Elsie Bambridge.
