Summary
Henry Edward Kendall (1776 - Westminster 1875). Plan for the park entrance to Wimpole Hall at Arrington, Cambridgeshire, c.1847, inscribed 'The Right Honble the Earl of Hardwicke', ' Park Entrance to Wimpole Hall', 'H E Kendall Archt.', with dimensions given and the 'Road' and 'Park' sides indicated, pen and ink with coloured washes and pencil emendations (585 x 852mm); a plan and longitudinal section of the drainage beneath the road has been added in pencil, scale '1/4 inch to a foot'.
Provenance
Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke (1799 - 1873); bequeathed by Elsie Kipling, Mrs George Bambridge (1896 – 1976), daughter of Rudyard Kipling, to the National Trust together with Wimpole Hall, all its contents and an estate of 3000 acres.
