Full description
This, and the following sketch share design and drawing characteristics with Liddell's suggestions for recasting Wimpole Hall (NT 2016; NT 20652; NT 20655.1 and NT 206237). A pepper pot pavilion capped by a domelet and an ornate ironwork screen with a gate flanked by stone piers, this sketch is related to the drawing on the verso of NT 206255.2. Provenance
Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke (1799 - 1873); bequeathed by Elsie Kipling, Mrs George Bambridge (1896 – 1976), daughter of Rudyard Kipling, to the National Trust together with Wimpole Hall, all its contents and an estate of 3000 acres.
