Full description
A proposal for a new plaster ceiling for the south drawing room. The fireplace (north) is shown at the bottom of the drawing. This and the following two ceiling designs are in a competent neo-Palladian style and may reflect earlier plasterwork undertaken during Henry Flitcroft's campaign of the 1740's. Provenance
Charles Philip Yorke, 4th Earl of Hardwicke (1799 - 1873); bequeathed by Elsie Kipling, Mrs George Bambridge (1896 – 1976), daughter of Rudyard Kipling, to the National Trust together with Wimpole Hall, all its contents and an estate of 3000 acres.
