Summary
Six small plates, Wedgwood, Queen's Ware. Pale blue ceramic and embossed with white vine leaves and grapes. Part of a twenty-one piece 'Embossed Queen's Ware' tea-set. Marked on base,' Made in England, WEDGWOOD EMBOSSED QUEEN'S WARE, OF ETRURIA & BARLASTON'. The works at, Etruria, Staffordshire were opened by Josiah Wedgwood in 1769 and productive up to C.1946. Subsidence caused closure and production moved to, Barlaston
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976).
