Summary
Figure, pearlware, a crowned lion lying on an oval grassy mound, facing proper left, John Walton, Staffordshire, ca 1820; decorated with coloured glazes and enamels, the base green and brown, the lion yellow with an orange-brown mane, the crown yellow and red, applied flowers to the front of the base.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
