Summary
Dinner service comprising 35 pieces, soft paste porcelain, Chamberlain's Worcester, ca 1800-1810; decorated in the 'Dragon in Compartments' pattern. The boar's head on the service is part of the Beckett family crest. The service was made for Sir Martyn Beckett's father, Sir William Gervase Beckett.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Government in lieu of estate duty and allocated to the National Trust for display at Rievaulx Terrace, 1972. This dinner service was purchased at the Kirkdale Manor sale in 1946 by the late Lord Feversham.
