Britannia Metalware jug, lidded, baluster shape, body jointed round middle, lid curved and hinged.
Marks and inscriptions
Under base, a device consisting of an oval frame containing two crossed arrows flanked by the initials S.F.; the frame itself flanked by the numbers 26 - 4. The initials may be those of Shaw and Fisher ?, who were in business at 43, Suffolk Road, Sheffield, from about 1845 until 1895; when they were taken over by James Deakin and Sons, who continued to use the Shaw and Fisher trade mark.
