Summary
Large glazed earthenware plate white ground and blue hand-painted design showing details from Sir Felix's Gentle Walk and the Moon Bridge at Greys Court in brown. On the reverse, labelled, 'Felix' and 'Doub' for Sir Felix Brunner, 3rd Baronet (1897-1982) and Lady Elizabeth Brunner (1904-2003). Painted by Laurence Irving (1897-1988) on a plate made by the Rye Pottery, East Sussex, England, 1965-1966.
Provenance
One of five plates commissioned and painted by Laurence Irving (1897-1988) for Sir Felix and Elizabeth Brunner and their sons between 1965-1966. Gifted to the National Trust from the Estate of Elizabeth Brunner, 2013.
