Summary
Mezzotint on glass, Britannia's Triumph on the Restoration of Peace. Published by W.B. Walker, No.4 Fox and Knot Court, Cow Lane, London, 4 June, 1802 Framed print of Britannia riding a four-wheeled chariot holding cameos of King George III and Napoleon Bonaparte. The chariot is drawn by two lions, one with a cherub postillion holding aloft a banner claiming 'Briton's Rejoice', a second cherub is aloft with a banner proclaiming 'Peace with France' in reference to the Treaty of Amiens signed on the 25th of March 1802. St Paul's Cathedral, London, is in the background.
