Walnut elbow chair with seat and back upholstered in fine petit and gross point needlework. Decoration depicts the mansion and gardens being enjoyed by the Brunner family dogs. This chair was used by Lady Brunner at her desk in the Schoolroom.
Summary
Virginian walnut elbow chair with upholstered back and seat in fine petit and gross point needlework of views of Greys Court with garland borders on dark brown ground. On cabriole front legs with carved shell and husk and returning scrolls on sides of knees; oval lozenge feet. Splayed back legs with club feet.
Provenance
Gifted to the National Trust by Sir Felix and Lady Elizabeth Brunner, along with Greys Court House and Estate, 1969.
