Summary

Jar or ginger jar and cover, porcelain, ovoid shape with green ground and in the white reserves a figure riding a horse with a manservant behind, and a similar group on the reverse; features the chinese characters shuangxi, the symbol for 'double happiness' and a matching lid, China, Jingdezhen, circa 1900.

Provenance

Gifted to the National Trust from the Estate of Lady Elizabeth Brunner, 2005.
